You’re invited to joyfully celebrate God’s love through worship on Sunday mornings! Each week we have two worship services: both include the same readings and sermon while offering different worship traditions.
Our 9am worship service focuses on Holy Communion using a progressive liturgy. This service follows a traditional structure but incorporates lively music from a wide variety of cultural traditions. The Adult Choir and Contemporary Instrumental Ensemble usually accompany this worship.
Our 11am worship service includes Holy Communion using a traditional sung liturgy. This worship takes on a more contemplative character, evocative of the musical traditions for which Lutherans are famous. The Adult Choir sings at this service, accompanied by the organ and frequent guest musicians.
All who wish to receive Holy Communion are welcome to eat at God’s table! You do not need to be a Lutheran or a member of the church. Children are also invited to commune or to come forward for a blessing. During the distribution you will be directed to the communion rail where you may kneel or stand. In addition to bread, you will be offered red wine or white grape juice from a tray of individual cups, or if you prefer, you may drink from the large Common Cup containing red wine.
CHILDREN & WORSHIP
We welcome children of all ages at our worship services and support and encourage their participation. For parent’s convenience, our nursery is available for those who wish, but it is not an expectation for your child during worship. The Nursery is located on the lower level of the church building (just below the sanctuary).
Children’s bulletins, coloring books & crayons are available in the church foyer/narthex. During each of the worship services (prior to the sermon) the pastor will invite the children to come forward for a special Children’s Message. We encourage any child present during worship to come forward at this time.
Immediately following the Children’s Message during the 9:00am service all children ages 3 years through 5th grade are invited to attend Children’s Church in the Community Room (below the sanctuary). Pastor Kathryn and Pastor Tom will lead Children’s Church where they’ll hear the Gospel lesson, and watch a brief video, do a craft or play a game. They will return to church during the Passing of the Peace, where they will be able to commune with their families and stay until the end of the service.
