Welcome to MLC!

4032694734_9279c4eaedWe’re glad you’re here and we hope that you will find the following information useful.

We’re at 649 Meadowsweet Drive in Corte Madera (Marin County, CA), one block south of Tamalpias Drive.   The church is within walking distance from Town Center, just west of the Corte Madera Public Library.    Click here for directions.

Please call the church office (415-924-3782) or contact us via email if you wish to speak to, or arrange an appointment with, Pastor Tom Gable.

The church office is open Monday – Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Street parking is available on both sides of Meadowsweet Drive.  On Sundays you may also use the triangular parking lot at the corner of Lakeside, Meadowsweet & Tamalpias Drives.

For those who prefer not to climb the stairs, you may enter the driveway at the far west end of the property and drive up to the upper patio area.  Passengers may be unloaded there.  At the east end of the upper patio there are handicap parking spaces.  The driveway loops around the church and exits where you entered.

Bicycle racks are found at the top of the driveway on the west end of the patio against the Fellowship Hall.

Enter the church through the double glass doors at the very top of the stairs, off the upper level patio.

Children are always welcome at our worship services.   We support and encourage their participation from the earliest ages.  Children’s bulletins, coloring books & crayons are available in the church foyer.   Prior to the sermon the pastor invites all children to come forward for a special Children’s Message.

Immediately following the Children’s Message, during our 9:00 a.m. worship service, all children, ages 3 years old through 5th grade, are invited to go to the Community Room (below the sanctuary) for their own church! ADdult leaders will lead CHILDREN’S CHURCH where they’ll hear the Gospel lesson, watch a brief video, do a craft or play a game. They will return to church during the Passing of the Peace, where they will be able to commune with their families and stay until the end of the service.

Our nursery is available for those who wish; it is located on the lower level of the church building (just below the sanctuary).

While the readings and the sermon are the same at both, the music and the liturgy are slightly different at the two services.  Our 9:00am worship is accented by a lively blend of both contemporary and traditional music.  The choir and Contemporary Instrumental Ensemble usually accompany this service.   At the more “traditional” 11:00 am service, worship takes on a contemplative character, evocative of the superb musical traditions for which Lutherans are famous.   The choir also sings at this service and is usually accompanied by the organ or guest musicians.

It is easy to follow the liturgy for both services as the prayers, responses and songs are all printed in the weekly Sunday bulletin which you will receive when you enter the church.

Communion is served at both services every Sunday.   All who wish to receive Holy Communion are welcome to eat at God’s table!  You do not need to be a Lutheran or a member of the church.  Children are welcome to come forward for communion &/or a blessing.

In addition to bread, red wine is served in both the individual cups or the large Common Cup.  White grape juice is served in the individual cups for those who do not want wine.

To access the church, drive up to the upper patio area at the far west end of the property.   There is a flat area and a short ramp that leads to the church. Several handicap parking spaces are available past the entrance at the east end of the upper patio.

A handicap accessible restroom is located through the open doorway off the foyer, directly across from the entrance to the sanctuary.

Church brochures, weekly bulletins, monthly newsletters and our website all contain information on service & fellowship groups.  Our pastors, church administrator, or any of our members will be happy to speak to you about ways to connect.
