What is actually happening when we sin? Can we understand ourselves from the inside as sinners? When we look inside, what do we see? We might see ourselves or one or another step down the staircase from innocence to radical evil: (1) anxiety; (2) unfaith; (3) pride; (4) concupiscence; (5) self-justification and scapegoating; (6) cruelty; and (7) blasphemy. What would our lives look like if we embrace the faith Jesus advises, namely, trusting in God?

Sunday, September 18: SIN: self-justification and scapegoating
