Town Hall Meeting - January 20

Sunday, January 20th the Council will lead a Town Hall meeting to review the ministry plan for 2019.

This is in preparation for  our annual meeting on January 27th.  If we are familiar with the ministry plan prior to the meeting, then we can be more efficient with the time spent on discussion of the ministry plan during the annual meeting.  Come prepared to ask questions, make comments or suggestions.

Annual Congregational Meeting - January 27

Sunday, January 27th beginning at 12:15pm

Enjoy a light lunch before the business meeting begins.

We hear short reports from 2018, including the financial reports and vote to approve the 2019 ministry plan. Other business items are included as needed.

ALL members are encouraged to come as your voice is important.

Memorial Service for Judy Rossbach - January 5

Saturday, January 5th at 11:00am, please join us for a service celebrating the life of Judy Rossbach.
Join her family as we give praise to God for the life of this amazing woman.

All are invited to a reception following the service, held in the parish hall.

Congregational Elections Meeting - December 2

Sunday, December 2nd at  10:15am all members are encouraged to come to our elections meeting.  The Nominating Committee has filled the slate of open leader positions.  We meet to vote on this slate of candidates.  Pastor Tom will also update us on our activities with Shepherd of the Hills.

Christmas Decorating - December 8

Decorating the Church – Saturday, December 8th from 9:00am – 12noon

COME join us as we decorate the church for Christmas.
Chrismons need to be hung on our 12′ tree
Wreaths are hung in the windows
Other greens and decorations are hung

Everybody can help with this, from children to adults.

St. Nicholas Event - December 9

St. Nicholas Event, Sunday, December 9th

Children’s crafts, games and stories – 3:30 – 5:00pm
Parents, drop your children 3 years old through 5th grade off at the church, and enjoy a bit of free time to do whatever you like.  The kids are sure to have fun with our youth and adults looking after them.

Beginning at 5:15pm, EVERYONE is invited to join us for dinner. 
We believe a special guest will visit us!
St. Nicholas was know for his charity, and care for people in need, so to honor his work, we are collecting warm gloves, scarves, hats and white socks.  These will be given to the SF Night Ministry who will make sure that people that live out on the cold streets will receive a little warmth.

Please let us know you are coming.  A sign up sheet is posted in the narthex.

Combined Service with Shepherd of the Hills - December 16

Sunday, December 16th at 11:00am

We will combine our 11:00am service with Shepherd of the Hills, Tiburon, holding one service in their sanctuary at 11:00am.  Pastor Tom will lead the service.  Rick West (MLC and Gary Williams (SOH) will lead a brass group sharing special music during the service.

Following the service there will be a lite lunch and time for fellowship.
At 1:30pm there will be a concert presented by the Sycamore Strings Academy.

Please take this opportunity to continue to get to know our sister congregation in Tiburon.

German Language Christmas Service - December 23

Sunday, December 23rd at 3:00pm

Join us for our German-language Christmas Service
(The entire service is spoken/sung in German.)

Pastor Kerstin Weidmann will lead the service.

Immediately following the service, stay to enjoy some refreshments and conversation.

Bring family/friends who are German speakers, or come if you are learning German, or simply want to hear the language spoken.  All are welcome.

October 26 & 27 Brown House Renovation

Friday & Saturday, October 26th and 27th, our Social Action Team is spearheading the annual renovation of the Family Emergency Shelter at 430 Mission Ave. in San Rafael.  From 9:00am to 4:00pm each day many hands are needed to help with tasks to spruce up the house and yard.  Please volunteer an hour of your time or 6 hours of your time each day to help this worthy activity.  Please sign up in the narthex if you know you will be able to help, or if your time opens up on one of the days, stop by and ask what you can do.

October 28 - Reformation

Services at 9:00 and 11:00am.
We celebrate the Reformation through music, word and sacrament.

Our choir will raise their voices accompanied by instrumentalists as they share a choral Reformation anthem.
Pastor will share a Reformation message with us.
We join together to celebrate Holy Communion.
