September 8th – Women’s Circle Bible Study

For all women:  our monthly circle bible study is resuming following the summer break.  We meet the second Wednesday of each month (in September it’s the 8th) at 10:00 a.m. in the conference room by the church offices.  We enjoy a small snack and a Bible study led by one of our women.

This year’s study topic is: The People of God – Unity in the Midst of Diversity, based on the Book of Faith initiative of the ELCA.  We are brought into intentional conversation around issues that divide us.  Biblical interpretation is at the root of many of our differences and discussion can be a way we learn from each other.  As we discover how others read the Bible, we find new ways to think about it.

All women are welcome.  Our goal is to increase in size so that we need to move into a bigger meeting space.

September 10th – Bowling for the Confirmands

The confirmation class begins their year, with a fun activity – BOWLING on Friday, September 10th.  We ask that all confirmation kids (grades 6-8)  meet pastor Kathryn at Country Club Bowl, 88 Vivian Street in San Rafael at 7:00 p.m.  If a parent is able to stay with Pr. Kathryn, that would be welcomed.

The kids should bring $15 for shoes, a game and snacks.  Invite a friend to come!

Pick up time at the bowling alley will be 8:30 p.m.

September 12th – Rally Sunday

Join us for festive services and activities on September 12th, Rally Sunday.

This is the day we kick off our fall church activities.  Our services at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. will be filled with music, Word and Sacrament.  Our choir returns from their summer break and we welcome the presentation of a special liturgical dance.

The children in the Kids of the Kingdom (3 year olds through 5th graders) will particpate in Rally Day activities between the services.  They begin by enjoying the songs that many of them learned during the summer’s Vacation Bible School and then will have fun with games and activities.

Everyone is invited to join us!
